Archery: 21 successful at Olympic Solidarity Level 1 Coaching Course

Guyana’s archery sector received a boost in the form of 21 coaches who successfully completed a five-day Olympic Solidarity Coaching Course hosted through the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) and Archery Guyana.

The Course was facilitated by World Archery Coach Trainer Ludys Tejada at the National Racquet Centre on Woolford Avenue in Georgetown over the better part of last week.

These 21 individuals will be a big boost to the schools programme and as such they were presented with a complete Beginner Archery set specifically for use in the National Schools  programme. The set includes a brand-new Easton Recurve  Bow, three arrows, a quiver, an arm-guard, a bow-string, a sight pin and finger protector. In  addition, they all received beginner finger tabs, Junior Cartel Quivers and a pack of Easton 3- arrow rests.

In a release to the media, Archery Guyana revealed that former President of the body, National Judge, Level 1 Certified Coach,  member of the Disciplinary committee and Chair of the Competitions Committee Ryan McKinnon commended the participants and made a presentation to six  newly certified Coaches from outlying regions with a Krossen Archery adult guard, an  Easton recurve Bow Stringer and Easton bow string wax.
