Perth farmer gets six months for breach of protection order

Kevindra Jagdeo, a 32-year-old farmer of Perth, Essequibo Coast has been jailed for six months for breaching a protection order obtained by his mother, Seromani Jagdeo, a 52-year-old businesswoman of Devonshire Castle, Essequibo Coast.

Jagdeo is accused of breaching the protection order on Friday last at Devonshire Castle. On Tuesday, the case was heard at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam, where the charge was read to the defendant and he pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Sam commenced the trial during which two witnesses testified. The defendant was called upon to lead his Defence, where he gave sworn testimony and was cross-examined by the Prosecutor.

Magistrate Sam found the defendant guilty of the charge, and he was sentenced to six months imprisonment.
