Persaud sets new ‘Endurance’ lap record at South Dakota

En route to a second consecutive victory in two years at the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) Endurance Meet, ENet boss Vishok Persaud set a new overall lap record of 1:22.42s yesterday at the South Dakota Circuit.

The endurance meet, which kicked off the GMR&SC calendar of events, saw Persaud complete 100 laps in two hours, 35 minutes, and 27 seconds in his KTM X-Bow.

His nearest rival was Mohamed Shiraz Roshandin, who placed second, managing to complete 98 laps, while Adrian Fernandes managed the same amount of laps, albeit in a longer time frame, to place third.

Over in the 1500cc and under category, Anthony Evelyn did 91 laps to win that category, while Roshandin ruled the roost in the 1501cc–1600cc division.

In the 1601-2000cc category, Richard Hamid completed 85 laps, while Persaud was the top competitor in the unlimited class.

Drag racing, which is slated for February 18, will be the next event.
