County squads named as GCB Senior Female Championships start today

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) yesterday named county teams for the senior women’s 50-over and T20 tournaments, which commences today.

At the Malteenoes Cricket Club grounds in Thomas Lands, Demerara will oppose Essequibo in the opening leg of the Super50 championship.

The Demerara team comprises Cherry-Ann Fraser (Captain), Kaycia Schultz (VC), Mandy Mangru, Nya Latchman, Tilleya Maramootoo, Naomi Barkoye, Selena Khan, Rushell Roberts, Cianna Barkoye, Anita Hendricks, Sarah Amin, Roshanna Harper, Nidia Andrews, and Chelsea Latif. The reserve trio are Arya Ali, Roshanna Garraway, and Arya Harrinarine. Clive Grimmond and Yolanda Parker will serve as the head coach and manager, respectively.

On the other hand, the Essequibo unit is made up of Navika Narine (Captain), Kumarie Persaud, Lavinda Ragobeer, Analeisa D’Aguiar, Latoya Williams, Laurene Williams, Varuni Pitamber, Giselle Williams, Nikesha Narine, Ozel Simpson, Divine Ross, Shonette Belgrade, Cyanna Retimiah, Yonette Welcome, and Melanie Dover. The reserves are Kesandra Phillips and Ashanti Mohammed.

Rayon DeCosta will serve as the head coach, while Marenda Cornelius is the manager.

Meanwhile, the Berbice team consists of Shemaine Campbell (Capt.), Tiaticia Isaacs, Tamera George, Danellie Manns, Tricia Hardat, Plaffiana Millington, Daniella Hicks, Denellie Lindee, Gaytri Sanichara, Shabiki Gajnabi, Sheneta Grimmond, Aswini Munisar (V/Capt.), Realeanna Grimmond, and Crystal Durant. The standby players for the Berbicians are Leah Kamalall, Darshanie Subramanie, Saradha Sewnarine, and Devona Frank. The head coach and team manager are Winston Smith and Tremayne Smart, respectively.
