A moral compass is a vital accessory to have

Dear Editor

I always believe that a moral compass is a vital accessory to have in modern grown up politics. Without it, you have a vacuum. Call me a prude but making political capital out of school-children does not appear very ethical. The dead of Mahdia and the living, but untaught, in state schools today are not, in my view, legitimate political footballs. Leave ‘em’ be. Play adult politics.

By and by, as one well educated in a Guianese state school-Sacred Heart RC as you ask, am I alone in finding the ‘intellectual’ menage a trois of GHK Lall, ‘Professor’ Randy Persaud and Rear Admiral Gary Best a touch limited and the LCD of argument that is often dull and pointless? Surely Guyana can do better than these three ponies of the apocalypse?

Sincerely,

John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
