The quality of competition on the local horse racing scene is expected to improve drastically following the addition of Trinidad Derby Stakes winner Soca Harmony.

The newest addition to the Jagdeo Stables of Corentyne, Berbice, was among three horses that arrived at the Cheddi Jagan Timehri Airport, Timehri, on Monday morning from Santa Rosa Park, Arima, in Trinidad.

The five-year-old bay is the daughter of J’Ouvert/Soca Rhapsody, which was owned by Lester Moore.

Soca Harmony boasts a race record of 22 events, winning nine (9) races, finishing second in seven (7) races, third in four (4) races, and fourth in two races, always among the earning positions. The 2023 Stewards Cup winner was joined on the flight by a four-year-old filly, Theory of Colour, and a dark/bay two-year-old filly, St Vigueur/Market Rally.
