A Plaisance man yesterday paid $250,000 to a person he was charged with wounding and the case was then dismissed at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court
The police said that Jamel Taylor, a 32-year-old mason of Graham Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was arrested by the Police on Thursday and charged yesterday with felonious wounding.
Taylor is accused of committing the act on Winston Munroe at Better Hope, ECD, on 15th January 2023.
The accused attended the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court #2 before Magistrate Alicia George where the charge was read to him and he pleaded guilty. However, the matter was dismissed after the accused compensated the victim with a total of $250,000.
