Georgetown Football Club (GFC) and Eastveldt recorded contrasting wins when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) ‘Black History Month’ Pre-Season Championship continued last night.
Staged at the GFC ground in Bourda, the home side downed Pele 2-0. Lamar Phillips found the back of the net in the 21st minute to break the deadlock. The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval.
Joshua Samuel then doubled their lead in the 69th minute to complete the result. Meanwhile, Eastveldt squeaked past Genesis 2-1. Terrence Shepherd handed East Veldt the lead in the 21st minute, while Akeem Baird doubled their advantage in the 35th minute. On target with a consolation goal in the 51st minute was Troy Gibson.
