TidyUp expands to Barbados

Yet another local company has succeeded in taking its product into the regional marketplace thanks to the initiative of AGROFEST 2024.

A release yesterday from the Guyana Office for Investment announced that TidyUp has expanded into the Barbados market, an achievement that was made possible through meticulous Business-to-Business (B2B) relationships cultivated during AGROFEST 2024 recently held in Queens Park, Bridgetown, Barbados.

TidyUp, a brand of liquid detergents and sanitizers manufactured by Duane Trading Company, has entered into a partnership with Kemarone Enterprises in Barbados, resulting in the development of a line of cleaning solutions under the ‘O’Clean’ brand which includes laundry detergent, fabric softener, carwash, and degreaser.

According to the release, this partnership marks a milestone achievement, showcasing cross-border cooperation and exemplifying the potential that exists within the Caribbean region. It added that a notable aspect of this collaboration is the “unique integration” of strengths from both companies, with product formulation taking place in Guyana while the finishing and packaging is completed in Barbados.

Chief Investment Officer of Guyana and Agency Head of the Guyana Office for Investment, Dr Peter Ramsaroop, stated that he was proud to help facilitate the strategic collaboration between TidyUp and Kemarone Enterprises. He emphasised that this partnership showcases the potential for regional businesses to unite, innovate, and drive economic development in the Caribbean region.

Meanwhile, owner of TidyUp, Duane Young said he was excited to be able to collaborate with his Barbadian counterpart. “This partnership with Kemarone Enterprises marks a significant milestone for TidyUp. We are excited to bring our expertise in product formulation to this collaboration, and by dividing the manufacturing processes between Guyana and Barbados, we can optimize efficiency and contribute to the economic growth of both nations. The support from the Guyana Office for Investment has been instrumental in making this expansion a reality.”

Similarly, Darone Brathwaite, Managing Director at Kemarone Enterprises, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration. “Kemarone Enterprises is happy to join forces with TidyUp in this venture. The approach of dividing responsibilities between our countries and businesses allows us to leverage each other’s strengths and deliver high-quality cleaning solutions to our customers. This partnership aligns with our commitment to innovation and sustainability.”

This expansion not only opens new horizons for TidyUp but also strengthens the economic ties between Guyana and Barbados, while boosting Guyanese exports and highlighting the Guyana Office for Investment’s commitment to promoting local products worldwide, the release added.
