The Guyana Police Force (GPF) brutalised Monedderlust 6-0 when the KFC Elite League continued yesterday evening at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Training Centre, Providence.

The contest was effectively over at the halftime interval as the lawmen stormed to a 3-0 advantage. Threvon Pluck opened the scoring in the 27th minute, while Dorwin George doubled their lead in the 34th minute. Completing the first half blitz was Pernel Schultz, who scored in the 45th+2 minute.

Nicholas MacArthur got into the scoring act to start the second period, as he found the back of the net in the 56th minute. Schultz then completed his brace nine minutes later to push the score to 5-0. The result was sealed in the 90th minute as Jemar Harrigon etched his name on the scorer’s sheet.

GPF head coach Wayne ‘Wiggy’ Dover, during a post-match comment, said, “A good three points; we just got there. I think our actual performance needs improvement going forward because, despite the score line, I think the performance in our assessment was not what we expected. I think we have to improve going forward.”

The event continues tomorrow at the same venue with a doubleheader. The winner of the tournament will receive $2,000,000, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $1,200,000, $800,000, and $500,000, respectively.
