Fruta Conquerors defeated Den Amstel by a 3-1 score when the KFC Elite League continued yesterday evening at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Training Centre, Providence.
It was the first win for the Tucville based outfit following two consecutive defeats. Makhaya Jarvis bagged a second half brace in the 60th and 64th minute while Naron Jerrick found the back of the net in the 46th+3 minute. For the loser, Anthony Benn briefly equalized in the 48th minute via the penalty spot.
The event continues on Tuesday at the same venue with a doubleheader. The winner of the tournament will receive $2,000,000, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $1,200,000, $800,000, and $500,000, respectively.
