Two weeks after the death of Pretty Posse taxi driver, 41-year-old Eon Holder, the police still have no trace of the identity of the perpetrators, or their vehicle.

Holder was killed on February 24, in the wee hours of the morning. According to reports, Holder had just transported a vendor to the Bourda market to purchase vegetables and gone to find parking, when he became involved in a heated discussion over a parking spot. He then parked his car in the centre of the road, blocking vehicles from passing, and as a result, an unknown individual drew a handgun and discharged a round at him.

The businessman heard the loud explosion and when he looked back, he saw Holder lying on the ground about 15 feet away from his car, and two men, one armed with a handgun, running away from the scene.

Stabroek News reached out to the police to enquire about an update but they were unable to provide any information.

Holder’s 69-year-old mother, Muriel Holder, is calling for justice and is complaining that the police were yet to give her any information regarding the perpetrators of her son’s murder. “They said they are not seeing no face in the footage [and] that it is blurry.”
