Santos defeated Fruta Conquerors by a 2-1 score when the KFC Elite League continued yesterday at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Training Centre, Providence.
Shamar Barnes opened the scoring for the Fruta Conquerors with a 17th-minute strike. However, Santos equalised in the form of Randy Roberts in the 33rd minute. The come-from-behind win was then sealed in the 81st minute, as Michael Oie found the back of the net in the 81st minute.
The event continues on Tuesday at the same venue with a doubleheader. The winner of the tournament will receive $2,000,000, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $1,200,000, $800,000, and $500,000, respectively.
