Trinidad rapper V-Max gunned down in his car

(Trinidad Express) A local rapper who went by the sobriquet “V-Max,” was shot and killed in Mt Lambert on Thursday night.

Police said that around 11 p.m. Ronald Veerasammy, 32 of Sinanan Gardens, Lower Santa Cruz was sitting in a Toyota Aqua parked at Second Avenue between Fourth and Fifth Streets, Mt Lambert when he was ambushed.

Police said that Veerasammy was shot several times about the body and died while still sitting in the car.

The killer then ran off.

Residents who heard the gunshots called police.

When officers arrived he was found slumped behind the steering wheel of car.

His body was later moved to a mortuary in Champs Fleurs and later to the Forensic Science Centre where a post-mortem is expected to be performed early next week.

Police said that Veerasammy had been born in Florida, United States but grew up in Trinidad.
