Noise nuisance going on for too long at Sita’s bar

Dear Sir/Madam,

We write with much concern as it relates to the noise nuisance on a regular basis, emanating from the popular ‘Sita’s Bar’ located In Station Street, Kitty. This noise has been going on for a long time, for years although several complaints have been made against the proprietor of Sita’s Bar. At the moment we, the residents, are very concerned come the day of the colourful season of Holi (Phagwah). Sita will continue to attract/invite a crowd to her own likeness where patrons of all walks of life would usually gathered up in front of her bar, playing Phagwah not in the holy manner but in an outrageous, vile manner, throwing water and other sorts of substances at any and all people.

I wish to state that Station Street/via Sita’s Bar is not a Hindu place of worship and not the right place for celebrating Phagwah. Sita has hundreds of patrons crowding up in front of her premises which is not supposed to be. Phagwah is celebrated, these days by people of all walks of life, but it is mainly for the Hindu community. Phagwah celebrations are being held these days at other specific locations including National Park, Stadium, Prashad Nagar, Carifesta Ground on Carifesta Avenue etc. As Phagwah is approaching, we are all asking why such celebration takes place in Station Street at a rum bar? Sita should desist from celebrating Phagwah at her Sita’s Bar. Such Holi festivities should not be held in a street and at a rum bar. Happy Holi to you and the entire Guyanese nation.

Sincerely,

Residents of Station

Street. Kitty
