In a rematch of the group stage segment, Guyana went down to England in a close contest in the final of the men’s over-45 division in the Indoor Hockey Masters World Cup, losing 4-5 yesterday at the David Ross Sports Village on the University of Nottingham Campus.

It was the first loss for the Guyanese in the entire tournament, who had defeated England 7-4 in their prior encounter. However, the hosts secured the title, led by a five-goal haul from Andy Langlands in the 14th, 19th, 37th, 38th, and 40th minutes.

For Guyana, Dwayne Scott recorded a hat-trick in the 31st, 35th, and 36th minutes, while Devin Hooper scored in the eighth minute.
