Appadu leads the Guyana jockey standings after four meets

Ronaldo Appadu sits at the summit of the jockey point standings with a tally of 59 after four horse racing meets, with 2023 winner Colin Ross following in second place.

Appadu boasts a record of six wins, seven second-place finishers, three third-place positions, and a fourth-place finish in 21 starts in 2024. Incumbent Ross, who trails by 18 points on 41, has a record of six wins, two runner-up placements, two third positions, and a fourth place in 19 starts.

Rounding out the top three is Yovin Kissonchand, who sits in third place on 31 points with four wins in 18 starts. Trinidadian Kiran Razack occupies the fourth position with 28 points and 12 starts. Meanwhile, Quinton Kellman, Kevin Paul, Nicholas Patrick, Vishal Ramnarine, Kishawn Pereira (ninth), and Dillion Khelawan round out the top 10 in that order.

According to the seasonal regulations, a win equates to five points, while second, third, and fourth place will earn three, two, and one point, respectively. Five horses must compete in a race before third place is awarded points, while seven horses must feature before fourth place is a recipient.

The Race of Champions meet on April 28th is the next meet of the season.
