The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) battered Fruta Conquerors 16-0 to maintain their perfect record when the Women’s Division One League continued on Saturday evening at the National Training Centre, Providence.
Any hopes for a possible competitive encounter were quickly extinguished as the army unit seized an 8-0 advantage at the end of the first half, a figure that was eventually matched in the second stanza.
Sandra Johnson led the rout with six goals in the eighth, 34th, 37th, 49th, 62nd, and 90th minutes, while Glendy Lewis recorded five conversions in the first, 45th, 72nd, 84th, and 87th minutes. Adding doubles were Jalade Trim [27th and 58th] and Glengie Lewis [28th and 88th], while Shenessa Cornelius netted once in the 55th minute.
