The respective winners will advance to the quarterfinal segment, which is pencilled to commence on April 20th. This will be followed by the semi-final section and the resulting final.

The winners of this year’s tournament will get $300,000, while the runners-up will pocket $150,000, and third place will settle for $75,000. On the individual side, there will be accolades for the Most Valuable Player (MVP), Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper.

Troy Mendonca, Petra Organisation Co-Director and tournament coordinator, said during a brief comment, “One of the things that we are very happy about, and I’m seeing the effort of the Ministry of Education’s input as it relates to the paying of individual coaches for schools.

There is a programme in the Allied Arts department, so the teams are much more organized. This is a massive programme in the making, and the Ministry should be commended for this initiative, which should be expanded. Kudos to the Ministry for initiating this programme.”

He further said, “In terms of the tournament, the only surprise was the elimination of Santa Rosa. Everyone else would have held their own, and the tournament has some great matchups for this weekend, and we are excited for the elimination round and eventual conclusion of the championship.”
