PM discusses electric vehicles with Dominican Republic team

Prime Minister Mark Phillips met with the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Guyana,  Ernesto Torres Pereyra, and the Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Cavel, the parent company of Electric Motors, Joel Tavarez and team, yesterday afternoon at the Office of the Prime Minister on Camp Street.

Discussions focused on potential investment by the company in the service distribution of commercial electric vehicles (EVs) in Guyana.

A release from the prime minister’s office said that Grupo Cavel is a prominent retail automotive group in the Dominican Republic with established relationships in vehicle sales, distribution, warranty, and servicing throughout the Caribbean region.

Also present was the Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana Energy Agency, Dr Mahender Sharma.
