Down memory lane

Dear Editor,

In 2009, I self-published a few of my poems for children titled, “Miracle of Meanings.” I was surprised that a copy of the cover was sent to someone in Guyana from Canada. I do not have a copy. I recall using the computer and a printer from the persons to whom I dedicate the publication to print about twenty five copies. The Stabroek News and the Guyana Chronicle honoured the piece with a picture released by the National Library. The late Mr. Allan Fenty promoted the publication on his television show. I think a radio station afforded me an interview.

Mrs. Janet Jagan asked me if assistance was given to publish since she did not know the small number released. I indicated to her that I did approach a local bank which indicated that the benefits of supporting the venture would not help to promote the service of the bank. This piece, along with another titled “A Walk with Him,” is now lost as a first impression (not that a second would follow}. Anyhow, this is not a loss for my name is but an insignificant drop in the ocean of Guyanese literature. And I thank God for that!

Sincerely,

Krishna Nand Prasad
