A man was on Monday remanded to prison by Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court after he was charged with attempting to murder another with a cutlass.

The man, Raymond Williams of Lot 59 Garnett Street, Kitty, allegedly on April 11th 2024 at Gordon Street, Kitty unlawfully wounded Emmanuel Persaud with intent to murder him.

Williams was not required to plead to the charge and the prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that the victim is still hospitalized and a cutlass was used to commit the act.

Considering those factors, Magistrate Nurse refused bail and the matter was adjourned to May 29th 2024.
