Lorne Anthony Whinfield, a 35-year-old resident of Hyde Park, Timehri, East Bank Demerara was yesterday sentenced to two years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to two charges of ‘Unlawful Possession of a Firearm without License’ and ‘Unlawful Possession of Ammunition without License’.
Whinfield appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed to answer to the charges. He pleaded guilty to both offences and was sentences to two years imprisonment on each charge. He was also fined $50,000 on each charge.
