The Guyana Police Force (GPF) assaulted the Western Tigers 4-2 when round two of the KFC Elite League commenced on Saturday evening at the National Training Centre, Providence.

It was a come-from-behind victory for the lawmen following a 1-2 deficit heading into the halftime interval.

Jemar Harrigon had given GPF the initial lead in the 19th minute, only for the Western Tigers outfit to seize control of the contest following conversions from Randolph Wagner and Andrew Murray.

Wagner equalised as he found the back of the net in the 22nd minute before Murray etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 45th minute, putting the Western Tigers unit in control. However, it proved to be a game of two halves, as three unanswered goals sealed the comeback win. Parity was restored to proceedings in the 65th minute as Neron Barrow netted.

Barrow made his presence felt once more as he completed his brace in the 76th minute to hand the lawmen the 3-2 advantage.

The outcome was then sealed in the 90th+2 minute as Nicholas MacArthur scored.

With the win, GPF moved onto 22 points and solidified their third-place position. On the other hand, the Western Tigers dropped to fifth place following their fifth loss and remain at 15 points.
