Letters to the Editor

A third-rate cricket team

Dear Editor, Looking at the dismal performance of the Indian cricket team in England and now Australia I want to believe Australia gave India this World Cup to make them feel good.

Flooding and the frustration of farmers

Dear  Editor, I was compelled to write this letter after reading the article `Ministry prepping compensation for Canal No.2 farmers – Ramsammy’ (SN January 5, 2011) that Minister of Agriculture Dr Leslie Ramsammy had said officers from the Livestock and Crops Division are in Canal No.

Letter from the past?

Dear Editor, I observed in Kaieteur News of Friday, January  6, 2012 a letter was published captioned ‘The question of extrusion’ which I had sent for publication in early November of 2008.

Dear Editor, I observed in Kaieteur News of Friday, January 6, 2012 a letter was published captioned ‘The question of extrusion’ which I had sent for publication in early November of 2008. The re-publication of that letter took me by surprise and I am sure it must have taken Dr Suresh Narine and his staff at the Institute of Applied Science and Technology (IAST) off guard. To my mind what may have been of more significance was if Kaieteur News had taken time off to investigate the current production and use of clay products in the country. I do not know the views of the reading public on the issues raised. However, I would like to indicate that even though I have not been able to get the necessary evidence from the folks at IAST as to the claims made at that time, I am of the opinion that it is not important enough to occupy the pages of the national press again. Yours faithfully, Elton McRae

Dear Editor, Many congratulations to the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha which celebrated its 38th anniversary yesterday.

Lorry parked in Light Street offensive to residents

Dear Editor, There is an atrocious looking Bedford lorry, which for weeks has been parked in Light Street near Charlotte Street, while heavy arc-welding was being done to repair the entire tray of the vehicle, which was dangerous and most unsightly.
