Dear Editor, I am responding to regional news item ‘T&T PM outlines three steps to fight crime’ (SN, Dec 23).

Dear Editor, I am not surprised about recent comments made by Mr Charles Sohan in a letter titled ‘Bewildering that Hope Canal excavation has been halted because of weather,’ dated Monday, December 20 in the Stabroek News and an article in the Kaieteur News titled ‘Technical sound, feasible Hope Canal project delayed until mid-January’ dated Tuesday, December 21 which contains a number of inaccuracies.

Dear Editor, It was pleasing to read the letter from Michael De Freitas ‘Why has E-networks been allowed to extend its signal but others have not?’

Dear Editor, One would hope that the whole point of laying a synthetic athletic track is to ensure that the timings achieved will earn international recognition.

Dear Editor, It doesn’t appear to me that the strategists, revisionists, technocrats, directors and even the experts that are daily involved in the direction of West Indies cricket have properly considered the rationale in preparing the West Indies team for prestigious international tournaments, such as the World Cup.

Dear Editor, Dr Cheddi Jagan acted and spoke the way he did because he was the son of a sugar worker.

Dear Editor, There is absolutely no way that GuySuCo under the PPP will ever de-recognize GAWU.

Dear Editor, The Christmas season is one of expectancy among the large Guyanese population in various parts of America. 

Dear Editor, The article ‘Cuba’s Economic Paradigm Shift: A Work in Progress’ (‘In the Diaspora’ SN, December 20) was an interesting take on developments in Cuba; we wait to see how it all pans out.

Dear Editor, It was instructive to see from SN’s December 18 edition, the management of the Linden Hospital Complex speaking up in relation to its referrals to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

Dear Editor, I am accompanied by a radio all day long and get really mad when the reception is bad, nonsense is played for songs, programmes that do not interest me are aired or the station is down, as is the case now for a number of hours.

Dear Editor, I wish to refer to an article in the Stabroek News under the caption ‘Arau wants land settled before low carbon decision –Toshao’ in its issue of Thursday, November 18, 2010.

Dear Editor, The Christmas season is here, the year is coming to the end, and the administration of Region 1 continues to run the region as if it is a comedy show.

Dear Editor, The current group  of sugar workers have made and continue to make contributions to Guyana, but it does more harm than good when those contributions are misrepresented, especially given the fact that persons are generally au fait with the struggles and political intricacies of sugar from slavery to now.
