Dear Editor, I have not written letters to the Press for some time about the Covid-19 pandemic and the failures of the Government to address this deadly virus.

Dear Editor, Please let me express appreciation to Minister Carl Greenidge for his letter `Advisory Committee on border case is considering pleadings to be prepared and the Counsel and Advocates will be geared for all relevant eventualities’ in yesterday’s Sunday Stabroek.

Dear Editor, Thirty-four years ago, on an Old Year’s night, I became a born-again Christian and since then, I’ve been going to church every Old Year’s night.

Dear Editor, This is why I have decided to quit this hypocritical blogging business.

Dear Editor, I refer to my letter of yesterday’s date headlined `Advisory Committee on border case is considering pleadings to be prepared and the Counsel and Advocates will be geared for all relevant eventualities’ topic which includes a sentence that reads as follows: “My office would be only too happy to share this material with Dr Ramcharan”.

Dear Editor, In his contributions to the Sunday Stabroek and Stabroek  News on 20th  and 28th  December respectively, Dr Bertrand Ramcharan has questioned, by way of a full page contribution not shared with the Ministry by the Editor before publication, in surprisingly strong terms, the decision of the International Court of Justice regarding Guyana’s complaint.

Dear Editor, As a former Minister of Home Affairs, I am moved to express publicly, my concern over the current state of affairs in respect to the controversy that is now in the public domain concerning the promotion of senior ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF).

Dear Editor, The PPP/C has returned to power without a coherent land management policy for Guyana.

Dear Editor, It is now an established fact of life here, an inseparable aspect of Guyana’s political culture, that when a party succeeds at the polls, their own people have to be taken care of first. 

Dear Editor, I refer to the SN letter `Headline on 11-year-old girl was abhorrent’ on January 1, 2021.

Dear Editor, The Kaieteur News’ front-page headline of January 01 blared that the “Gas-to-shore project, a recipe for bankruptcy” and went on to quote a “US Financial Expert” who shared a very pessimistic view about the viability of any proposed gas to shore project being executed by the government of Guyana.

Dear Editor, I can appreciate the recent comments in the news concerning the lack of confidence in making a gas pipeline profitable when compared to renewables.

Dear Editor, On the morning of December 29, 2020, I tuned in to the Voice of Guyana to listen to the 7 am Guyana time news broadcast.

Dear Editor, Over the last five months, the Ministry of Agriculture and its agencies were able to execute a number of developmental initiatives all across the country.

Dear Editor, It was horrifying to recently read a Demerara Waves  headline declaring that an “11 year-old girl was sexually active”.

Dear Editor, It is agreed that 2020 was “The year the earth stood still”  (SN Dec 31), but we are making a turn for the better as we close it.

Dear Editor, The year 2020 was a year of struggles, testing, trauma, loss, anxiety, fears etc.

Dear Editor,  So the forensic report on the Demerara Harbour Bridge Asphalt Plant has been submitted and has come up with a big fat nothing, only that the wild allegations  are “possible”. 

Dear Editor, Recently the government announced that it has entered into a deal with China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) for additional work at CJIA “to the amount of approximately US$9M at the sole cost of CHEC”, which includes two more passenger boarding bridges, additional commercial space, and completion of outstanding remedial works.
