Dear Editor, This letter is written with regards to an article published in the Kaieteur News dated June 28, 2020 and entitled, `Coronavirus: It has mutated and is now even more infectious.’

Dear Editors, My good friend the Chinese Ambassador laid out his Government’s position on Hong Kong in a letter to Stabroek News on 17 June `Hong Kong’s high degree of autonomy does not mean complete autonomy’. 

Dear Editor, Expectations are high and low, depending on one’s perspective, of the ruling by the Caribbean Court of Justice today in the matter of its jurisdiction, in the Eslyn David V Chief Election Officer et al case.

Dear Editor, I was shocked see on page 10 of the Trinidad Guardian newspaper on Saturday, July 4, 2020 a full page publication plainly attempting to  influence the extant matter before the CCJ concerning the Guyana elections.

Dear Editor, D. Alissa Trotz and Arif Bulkan in their carefully crafted essay on `Guyana’s political tragedy’ (SN, June 30, 2020) provide a bird’s eye view of some of the irreversible historical events leading up to the current national crisis.

Dear Editor, I am certain that thousands of persons from Guyana, the Caribbean and the wider world are anxiously awaiting the decision tomorrow of the Caribbean Court of Justice  (CCJ) in Guyana’s elections saga.

Dear Editor, I would like to suggest some reform of the system of government in Guyana which I believe can produce a permanent solution to the problems which we have been encountering among the major parties, which keep increasing with no sign of improvement in our governance, and which is continually maintaining this culture of division among our people, especially at times when we have to elect a new set of persons to administer our affairs.

Dear Editor, Much has been written by many on the  current elections impasse  with de facto President David Granger  and his party leaders refusing to accept the reality of  defeat with the notable exception of Dominic Gaskin and latterly by Mr C.N.

Dear Editor, We have been hearing about the Government’s plan in reopening the country, but the decision is based on what?

Dear Editor, Reference is made to an advertisement in the Trinidad Guardian (page 10 July 5) regarding the Guyana constitution and jurisdiction of the Caribbean Court of Justice.

Dear Editor, I compliment Ian McDonald’s article in yesterday’s Sunday Stabroek on the need to compile a dictionary of national biographies – an excellent proposal and a resource that is badly needed and long overdue. 

Dear Editor, There is no mystery regarding the electoral defeat of the APNU+AFC at the 2020 elections.

Dear Editor, I refer to the statement that because the organization was not consulted collectively some members have distanced themselves from a news article condemning attacks on a Caribbean female prime minister (‘Not a WGEC decision’ SN July 4).

Dear Editor, I am a firm believer that God always works everything (the good and bad) out for my good eventually.

Dear Editor, As we await a ruling from the CCJ, there is little dispute in the minds of Guyanese that the National Recount delivered valid votes which satisfied the criteria established by GECOM for the process of counting votes. 

Dear Editor, Lots of pundits are today calling for shared governance, but the raison d’être for this concept of government no longer exists.
