Dear Editor, I am totally disappointed with the manner in which bids are evaluated at the level of the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB).

Dear Editor, Under the present regime of $200 per hour, a car parked in the city of Georgetown between 7am and 5pm (while its owner was at work) would incur charges of $4000 in two working days.

Dear Editor, Parking meters, amendments to the contract and the bylaws are all fruits of a poisonous tree: the parking meter contract, and therefore everything that emanates from it is tainted.

Dear Editor, I refer to two letters pertaining to the parking meter issue; one by Raquel Thomas-Caesar (‘The parking meter project was foisted on the citizenry’ SN, January 24) and the response by Mark Benschop (Team Benschop) (‘Other councillors apart from Duncan spoke out on parking meter contract’ SN, January 26).

Dear Editor, Guyana’s alcohol dilemma continues as stories of violence continue with references to alcohol helping in the losing of inhibitions.
