Dear Editor, We have noted your editorial entitled ‘ExxonMobil developments’ dated February 6, and we hereby clarify some of the points made and questions asked.

Dear Editor, Delivering the feature address at the launching of the Cunha Canal Rehabilitation Project (CCRP) on Feb 4, Minister of Agriculture Noel Holder stated that the Cunha Canal located on the East Bank of Demerara is intended to serve two purposes: firstly, to drain farmlands located in the villages of Kuru Kururu, Coverden, Pearl and Sarah Johanna; and secondly, to relieve flood water from the East Demerara Water Conservancy (EDWC) into the Demerara River.

Dear Editor, Minibus drivers depend on their passengers for a living, and the passengers depend on them to get from one point to another.

Dear Editor, Like a mediaeval queen, Her Worship the Mayor has issued her decree from up high in the form of a letter to the February 5 edition of Sunday Stabroek: ‘M&CC will continue to push ahead with parking meters’.

Dear Editor, The Mayor & City Council should consider a smarter alternative to collecting more revenue,  than by what is considered by many as an ill-conceived, burdensome and expensive parking meter venture for a small return, even if all the meters are fully used.

Dear Editor, We need answers from the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) regarding payments of senior citizens’ pension arrears for 2016.

Dear Editor, GT&T is our national provider of internet and landline phone services.

Dear Editor, I am one of those who subscribe to the laws of dialectical and historical materialism.

Dear Editor, The Bartica Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) views with concern the strained relationship between the government and the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners’Association (GGDMA) over the proposed new tax measures and the threat by miners to close operations if negotiations fail.

Dear Editor, The private sector as represented by the Private Sector Commission, the Guyana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Guyana Manufacturers and Services Association needs to decide whether its wants to be an opposition party or an appendage of the PPP/C or a development partner.

Dear Editor, Is Georgetown living in (Alice in) Wonderland? The parking meter imbroglio raises two simple questions:a) Should the madness that is central GT traffic continue or be regulated as in almost every other city in the world?

Dear Editor, Some of my concerns regarding the parking meter contract are: Can the overseas based SCS or the city council raise the rates when he/she so desires?
