Dear Editor, A few hours after having sent off my second letter on the Ashley Anthony/ Caribbean Press fiasco, I received a telephone call from a Ministry of Culture official inquiring about my home address. 

Dear Editor, This morning (January 8) was the opening of the assizes.

Dear Editor, I am wholly disheartened by the several crimes being perpetrated against women and children in Guyana ending without the conviction of the accused.

Dear Editor, I wish to raise in the public domain an issue which can be sorted out to the satisfaction of customers.

Dear Editor, It increasingly seems as though the constitutional battles of the land live and die in the lower level courts.

There have been at least 5 cases in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court alone for this year already, involving the battering of women by their husbands or partners.

Dear Editor, I am responding to a letter that was published in your Thursday, January 3 edition, by Roger Ally captioned, ‘Boodram has unwittingly made the argument for modesty and decorum in dress.’

As the old year turned, new regimes took hold in both the United States and China, acknowledged by most people in the Caribbean and elsewhere as the countries most likely to determine the international frameworks within which our countries will find it necessary to function. 

Dear Editor, The insanitary conditions in the Suddie Police Station lock-ups are very inhumane for anyone incarcerated there; they are aggravated by bad treatment by the ranks.

Dear Editor, The GWI Divisional Manager made it clear to the residents near the Number 53 sport complex that there were no plans for a well at Number 53 Village.

Dear Editor, Before a person finishes reading this letter, thousands of women all over the world would have been raped.
