So, President Hugo Chávez has been re-elected with a healthy 55 percent of the popular vote, though by a slimmer margin of victory than in the 2006 election – 10 percentage points as opposed to 26.

Puzzled by GTU silence

Dear Editor, I have been touched by the story of  the deplorable condition of the Head Teacher’s house in Mahdia which was the subject of yesterday’s SN Editorial, but I am puzzled by the silence from the Guyana Teachers Union and  do apologize  if they have commented through some other medium.

It was already renamed Jurassic Park

Dear Editor, I wish to advise the letter writer in SN of 2012-10-08  Hilman Henry that the area he referred to as “Confusion Square” has already been renamed “Jurassic Park” by many, including vendors, pedestrians, drivers and other “ residents” who eek out their daily existence in that area.
