BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Off-spinner Ashley Nurse believes confidence will be one of West Indies’ assets in the upcoming World Cup in England.

Winners Connection clinched the inaugural Linden Town Week Mayor’s Cup Football Championship, upsetting highly touted Eagles FC 4-2 via penalty kicks on Tuesday at the Mackenzie Sports Club [MSC] ground, Linden.

A historic night brought the curtain down on the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ East Coast Demerara Championships as Melanie `B’ defeated Paradise `A’ 2-1 in a nerve-wracking penalty shoot-out to lift the coveted title for the second time on Monday.

Key players find touch ahead of Tri-Nations Series

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Stroke-maker Darren Bravo and all-rounder, Raymon Reifer, both gathered half-centuries while speedsters Shannon Gabriel and Sheldon Cottrell snatched three-wicket hauls, as they all warmed up for the Tri-Nations Series starting in Ireland next week with strong performances Playing in a practice game against a Barbados Cricket Association XI at 3W’s Oval, UWI Cave Hill Campus yesterday, Bravo top-scored with 64 and fellow left-hander Reifer carved out 62, as the West Indies XI tallied 326 for seven off 50 overs.

Yearwood, bowlers secure semi-final spot for MSC

A half-century from national youth batsman Shamar Yearwood which was backed up by his side’s bowlers secured a semi-final spot for the Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) who defeated GNIC by 61 runs in the final round of the GCA/American Youth Premier Cricket League Under-19 Cricket Competition, at MSC yesterday.
