A 45-year-old man was killed on Saturday when he was pinned by the vehicle he was travelling in at Issano after it developed mechanical problems and toppled.
Dead is Michael Hughes of Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara.
Police in a press release yesterday said they are investigating a report that around 16:30 hours motor lorry GKK 6599 was proceeding to Bartica when in the vicinity of 57 Miles, Issano, the vehicle encountered mechanical problems.
This caused the driver to lose control and the vehicle toppled, pinning, Hughes who was in the tray of the vehicle.
The injured man, the release added, was taken to the Bartica Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
