‘Jet man’ remanded over phone thefts

A “jet man,” accused of committing two thefts on the same day, was remanded to prison yesterday after he denied the charges when they were read to him.

Akeem Goodluck, 25, of 9 Meadowbrook, appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer to the charge that on the September 14, at the Kitty Public Road, he stole a BlackBerry cellphone valued $40,000, property of Melissa Narine.

It also alleged that on the same day, in the vicinity of Barr Street, Kitty, Goodluck stole a Samsung cellphone, valued $24,000, from Keisha Paul.

Prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to bail since both crimes were said to have been committed on the same day. Goodluck, who said he was a “jet man” in the interior, was remanded to prison until September 24.
