$43.2m contract cleared for Essequibo Coast sea defences

A $43.2m contract was cleared at the August 23rd Cabinet meeting for upgrading of the sea defences between Bushlot and Reliance on the Essequibo Coast.

According to information released yesterday by the Ministry of the Presidency, the contract was awarded to S. Maraj Contracting Service.

A $21.6m contract for the reconstruction of the Five Miles Bartica/Potaro Road, Cuyuni-Mazaruni was cleared. The contract was awarded to Doodnauth Construction and Supplies.

Four contracts were cleared for the procurement of supplies for Guyana Water Incorporated.  Lot No. 1 for the supply of galvanized pipes and worth $19.4m went to National Hardware Limited. The three other lots for the supply of 25mm polyhose to the value of $8.4m, supply of ferrule straps to the sum of $22m and the supply of polyconnectors and stopcocks to a total value of $14.88m went to Y2K Construction.

A contract for $27.7m   for the supply of agricultural equipment to the Guyana Prison Service was given the green light and went to Netcom Computer City. Another for the same entity for agricultural equipment worth $4.1m went to The Hardware Depot.

For the servicing of health care equipment at the Georgetown Public Hospital, a contract worth US$99,000 was cleared for Biomedical International Corporation.

Three contracts for the supply of cooked meals to the Ministry of Social Protection’s Night Shelter were also cleared. The contracts for breakfast and lunch at $16.1m and $25.2m respectively went to Koshall’s Catering. D&Gee’s Foods was given the green light for the dinner contract to the value of $17.5m.
