France to open embassy here next year

France is to establish an embassy here next year, according to a joint communique following a meeting at State House yesterday, Guyana has also agreed to purchase maritime patrol assets from France.

Police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred at about 1.50 am yesterday on the public road at Bushlot, Corentyne, Berbice, involving a motorcycle (#CL 9018), owned and ridden by Karan Dhuman, a 17-year-old painter from Lot 334 School Street Bushlot Village.
