Standards bureau puts out suggestion boxes, hotline number

The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) is urging members of the public to utilize the suggestion boxes it has put up at strategic locations countrywide in its efforts to obtain feedback from stakeholders regarding the services the bureau provides as well as consumer-related problems.

The GNBS in a press release stated that another means of reaching the bureau is via its consumer hotline, 227-7889, which will be available during working hours, and an inspector will be always available to take calls.

Meanwhile, suggestion boxes have been positioned at Imam Bacchus’ business premises at Affiance and the Charity Marketing Centre on the Essequibo Coast, the Parika Stelling, the GNBS Head Office at the National Exhibition Centre, Sophia, and at Regional Democratic Council Offices in Regions Three, Five, Six, Seven and Ten.

All boxes would be cleared regularly in order to address matters brought to the attention of the bureau, in a timely manner, the release said.

In using the suggestion boxes, GNBS advised that the feedback can take the form of questions, comments, suggestions, and consumer complaints. Moreover, stakeholders in the respective regions may also use the boxes to highlight consumer issues and other similar problems so the bureau can take appropriate action.
