I have a dream

Dear Editor,

It’s a shame to see politically fostered racism still affecting the Guyanese people. Jagan and Burnham must be given credit for this to the detriment of the average Guyanese who has to face so many challenges just to survive on a day-to-day basis.

I dream of one day when we Guyanese people will take back our political and economic destinies from the clutches of racial politics. One day, when the rest of the Caribbean will look up to us, one day when we will be rated in the upper indices of human development. For the political power is in the hands of the people, and one day they shall make the conscious decision that will make Guyana prosper once again to our rightful place as a developed country.

The basic fundamentals are lacking in Guyana: respect for the laws of this land. So even if we get millions in investment things will be the same. One day we will be free from racial politics.

One Love, God bless Guyana.

Yours faithfully,
