The PPP has a habit of encircling their faithful party comrades

Dear Editor,

In the November 20 edition of the Kaieteur News, columnist Mr Freddie Kissoon wrote a very insightful article concerning the minister who allegedly used his personal weapon during an altercation with another individual on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD).

Do we have to wait for this gentleman to kill someone before something is done by those in authority?

The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has a habit of encircling their faithful party comrades whenever one of them does something wrong. This is totally unacceptable to the people they serve. Additionally, it creates a two-tier system – those who have connections and those who don’t.

What is even more unbelievable is that this minister actually went to the Police Station and indicated that he did not with to proceed with the matter (KN 19.11.07). Who is he to tell the police such a thing?

When such incidents occur, the police force lose the respect of the public when it becomes evident that they are bowing to a political master. However, they must be commended for sending the file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for review.

I hope the DPP dopes not shelve this matter along with the many others, which have had similar treatment.

In conclusion, I believe that this minister should (1) be removed from office forthwith (2) return his firearm to the police and (3) be sent for immediate counselling.

Yours faithfully,

D Charles
