Police are investigating the murder of a Mazaruni miner which occurred at about 6 pm on Thursday.
Dead is Leroy Fields, 40, of East La Penitence, Georgetown who was killed at Isseneru Backdam, Mazaruni River.
Police say investigations have so far revealed that Fields works in a mining camp and is alleged to have been involved in an argument with a man during which he was chopped on the head.
The suspect has not yet been arrested but police are continuing investigations.
