There is an increasing number of people who are either seeking compassion for murderous bandits or are attempting to rationalize the slaughter of innocent women and children by exploiting imaginary political grudges.

Fr Malcolm Rodrigues has joined the ranks of those who empathize with the killers. In an interview with the Stabroek News he highlighted the now largely discredited scheme of “marginalization” as grievance enough to commit vicious crimes, a pattern that has now emerged as a widespread campaign of wanton murder. The Catholic priest wants national “space” to accommodate an understanding of the murderers.

Fr Rodrigues should note that the killer “Fineman” Rawlins did not slaughter children because he felt marginalized; he did it because he wants his then impregnated teenage girlfriend returned to him.
