Woman who stole from son-in-law remanded

Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle on Tuesday remanded to prison a Mahaicony couple who admitted to stealing $139,000 worth of electronic and household items from the woman’s son-in-law.
Jai Narine, 37 and Eula Jardine, 53, were initially represented by Paul Fung-a-Fat but he withdrew as their attorney after the defendants pleaded guilty when they appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

According to the facts of the case between November 31, 2007 and March 29, 2008 the couple who lived with Jardine’s daughter, stole the items from the young woman’s reputed husband Fabian Williams.

The couple was remanded to prison and given until yesterday to repay Williams for the items.
