The allegation against Suresh Pollard called ‘Duck’ is that between July 28 and 29 at Georgetown, he broke and entered the apartment building of Malika Kissoon and stole therein one saw valued $165,000 and a cross-cut valued $45,000, property of Ganga Bharrat.

The 39-year-old vendor denied the charge when it was read to him. The defendant who said that he resides at 130 Duke Street, Kingston, was unrepresented by counsel but requested bail.

The prosecution, however, objected to Pollard’s bail application, citing that he has a matter of a similar nature pending in court.

The magistrate then informed Pollard that he will be remanded to prison. No facts of what transpired on the day in question were presented to the court. The matter will be called again on August 7.
