Street Boys not taking Grantville for granted

They say one should not take things too much for granted and this will be the case today when Street Boys oppose Grantville as the Banks DIH-sponsored 15-over-a-side softball competition contin ues with a series of matches.

The street-wise, Street Boys team will not be taking their opponents for granted.

With numerous teams participating in this competition, nothing more but entertainment can be forecast for the duration of the tournament and today’s matches should be no exception.

Street Boys and Grantville XI and Top Notch XI who will challenge Savage XI will compete at Providence, East Bank Demerara while Farm Masjid and Eccles Sports Club will clash in Georgetown at the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) Ground also from 10.00hrs.

From noon, four matches will be played simultaneously with Silver Belt looking to get the better of Better Hope XI at the NIS ground; Uprising trying to shine against Barakat XI at the Dem Amstel Ground; Top Notch XI taking on Harlem All Stars at Providence and Grantville will be looking to halt Unstoppable XI also at Providence.

From 2pm Unstoppable XI and Harlem All Stars clash at Providence while Fire Crew XI will be looking to burn Shattazville at the Den Amstel ground.

Meanwhile, action in the Trophy Stall-sponsored competition will also be played today with the second semi-final between Rangers XI and Rocky XI taking place at the Den Amstel ground.

This game will commence from 0900hrs.
