Dear Editor,
The funds that will be expended on Carifesta are quite large, but as the saying goes, entertain the people lest their woes bother them. I would urge all Guyanese to use the opportunity that Carifesta offers to let the world know what our potential is and how racial politics have hindered that potential.
With the current trend in world food prices, we are in a unique position to generate cash. However, the basic political initiatives are not there to facilitate this. It is time we learnt that we live in a global village; what happens in Calcutta or in Beijing will affect us all the way to Aishalton.
