Sharma should give a right of reply to anyone against whom allegations have been made

Dear Editor,

I offer a suggestion.  I have no doubt that Mr Sharma would like to be of help to ordinary people, but if he is to work for justice for the people, he could perhaps do so in a responsible manner.  He would need to employ trained researchers who could check stories carefully and investigate all circumstances.  This will mean not only listening to anyone who has genuinely been proven to have been treated unjustly, but also giving the right to reply to the persons or organisations who are being blamed.  It is not that people intend to lie, but all of us, when relating a story or incident, will speak in such a way as to show ourselves in a good light and make the other party look as guilty and as heartless as possible.  If both sides get a chance to speak, Mr Sharma may even be able to help them work out a suitable solution.  I know that in some cases this will not be possible, but understanding comes when people talk and listen to each other.
If day after day, all that is heard are stories blaming others, discontent will grow and could even lead to hatred and violence. No one benefits from violence.

Yours faithfully,
D Howells
