Beepat’s Scorpions and Maccabees Basketball Clubs will be the hosts of the inaugural Inter–Organization one-day knock-out basketball tournament at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Monday.
Jump ball is 9am. The tournament is being held to celebrate Guyana’s 42nd Independence anniversary.
The tournament will be sponsored by M. Beepat and Sons, Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T), Medicare Pharmacy and Edmond Vieira.
Teams from the Guyana Defence Force , National Insurance Scheme , Digicel and GT&T will be competing.
According to a release from the organizers, spectators can expect to see non-active basketball players showcasing their talent on the court as they represent their respective places of work.
The competition will be played on a knock-out basis from the start and the semi finals and final will be held the same day.
