Administrators should look into shortcomings at Suddie Hospital

Dear Editor,

With reference to Mr Mohamed Khan’s letter in your column of 27.5.08, captioned, ‘No chairs in the Outpatients at Suddie Hospital,’ I strongly support his point about what is crucially lacking in this institution.

Recently, I visited the hospital to check on a friend of mine and was disheartened to notice what was missing, and that visitors were uncomfortable despite the huge sum spent by the government.
An important issue that Mr Khan highlighted related to the doctors and their private clinics. On regular visits to the hospital, some of the doctors are sometimes absent, the nurses arrive late and patients have to wait for hours before they receive attention. I do hope the administrators will look into this matter urgently.

Yours faithfully,
Ravendra Madholall
