Rain prevents any play in BCBC/TELENEC semifinals

By Calvin Roberts
Once again, the heavy rainfall associated with this time of the year has prevented any play in the two semifinal matches of the Berbice Cricket Board of Control (BCBC)/TELENEC-sponsored 2007 50 overs a side first division semifinal matches that were scheduled for last weekend.

At the Rose Hall Canje ground, home team and Zone A winners Rose Hall Community Centre were set to face Zone B runners up Albion community Centre whilst at Scotsburg ground, Zone B winners and home team Scotsburg United were set to square off with Zone A runners-up Young Warriors.

Even when the competitions committee of the BCBC decided to use Sunday the reserve day to play matches, heavy overnight and early morning rain left the grounds under water thus making such impossible.

Both matches will be played at a later date as the BCBC looks to expedite the completion of this competition as quickly as possible in order to commence the 2008 version of same.
